My college education started in 1993 in Turkey. I was selected with a “talent search examination” to attend the Cukurova University, Education Faculty, Fine Arts Education Department in Adana, Turkey. This was a 4-year education program and I graduated from this institute in 1997. During the same year, I began to work in a high school as an art teacher and thought basic art history, perspective, graphic design, sculpture, drawing, painting, landscape design, and internal design. One of my students won the 1st prize nationally for designing a poster on the negative effects of drug addiction. I left this position after working 2 years because I applied to masters program at Mustafa Kemal University, Fine Arts Faculty, Sculpture Department inTurkey. I passed the exams and I worked there as a research assistant between 1999 and 2005 and completed my masters degree in sculpture successfully between 2001 and 2003. I gave some lectures while I was pursuing my master degree, such as Artistic Anatomy, Drawing, Fundamental Art Elements, and Sculpture Design. In 2004, I visited Santa Cruz for two months as a summer vacation and I gave a speech about “Figurative Metal Sculptures” to the art students at UCSC - Art Department. I left my research assistant position in Turkey and moved to Santa Cruz, CA, USA in 2005 due to my wife’s job position. When I was there, I first exhibited my sculptures to many locals in my garden with a garden exhibition. The following year, I became a member of Santa Cruz Art League and I joint to the membership exhibition, and I also exhibited some of my sculptures in La Bottega Art Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA for couple of months. Meanwhile I gave private art lectures to 2 kids, ages of 5 and 7, for several months and completed many art projects together and visited art galleries as well.
In 2006, I moved to Baton Rouge and exhibited my works at several locations including Baton Rouge Arts Market, New Orleans Arts Market, Festival of Lights, White Lights Night, Arts Council Gallery, The Blackett-Peck Gallery in New Orleans and recently in N The Art Space in Baton Rouge.
