- Opening the 2011 season, the orchestra welcomes you with the delightfully lyric and energetic Donna Diana Overture of Emil Nikolaus von Reznicek. Setting the romantic tone for the 2010-2011 season, French pianist and Baton Rouge favorite, Philippe Bianconi thrills with his performance of Tchaikovsky’s majestic Piano Concerto No. 1, one of the most beloved of all concerto ever composed. Bianconi has been described as an artist whose playing is "always close to the soul of the music, filling the space with poetry and life" (Washington Post).
