Tapestry Summer Art Camp (Educational)
8833 Goodwood Blvd
Baton Rouge LA 70806
This summer, students have the opportunity to express their creativity through total immersion in the arts. Tapestry, a two-week, full-day program for students entering 2nd-8th grade in August 2009 will be held on the campus of St. Luke’s Episcopal Day School from June 8th-19th. Students will experience four sessions a day, guided by talented local artists who are passionate about art and eager to help young people grow creatively. Each day during lunch, students will enjoy demonstrations and performances by camp participants and guest artists in all fields.
Like a tapestry, threads of creativity run through us all. This program weaves together visual and performing arts for a creative experience that will be unique for each child. The students will be divided into two age groups by grade level: 2nd-4th and 5th-8th. We seek to provide each child with the opportunity to grow artistically as well as explore new areas of interest. This year we are excited to offer the following courses:
Beginning Guitar Painting Sculpting Drama
Beginning Piano Drawing Pottery Dance
Instrument Exploration Woodworking Sewing Jewelry Making
Video Game Development Digital Media Cooking
In addition to the classes for students, Tapestry also offers adults a chance to work with our artists. Parents and family members have the opportunity to take single classes or sign up for private instruction with one of our talented instructors.
We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
